Anyone here know the modulation settings for the true online adsl?

Is it:

ADSL

ADSL2

ADSL2+

ADSL2 annex M

ADSL2+ annex M

ADSL2+ ITU G.992.5

ADSL2+ (multi mode except annex)

ADSL2+ ITU G.992.5 with DELT

It depends on your connection profile. Mine is ADSL2+ Annex M (True 8M package). Keep it set on 'multi mode' if you're unsure.

I just don't know why my speedtest is so low.

I'm supposed to be on a 6Mb line but my speedtests are like 400k download and 128k upload.

My line settings seem to be fine.

SNR Margin 26 37 dB

Line Attenuation 24 10 dB

Data Rate 7067 613 kbps

400Kbytes would be entirely normal for your line. 400Kbits would not.

I wouldn't put too much faith in speed tests. It's real world performance that counts. With your 6Mb connection, you should be getting download speeds in excess of 550 KB/s. The maximum I've seen on my 8M line is 900~950 KB/s.

400Kbytes would be entirely normal for your line. 400Kbits would not.

400kbps or like 50KB per sec

upload is:

110kbps or like 9KB

Ah no, that's not normal. With your sync speed you should be getting nearer ten times that.

MIne's set to ADSL_2plus_AnxM (10 Mbps package).

Your data rate above shows your ADSL modem/router is syncing at (actually above for download) the 6Mb package you are paying for. And your SNR and attenuation values are excellent. I expect if you perform some speed tests to some "in-Thailand" speedtest sites (True, 3BB, TOT) below you will get around a 5.2Mb or higher speed (these speedtest programs reflect/compensate for DSL overhead bits that takes away approx 10-15% from the max speeds such as around 6Mb). With a data rate sync of 7.067Mb as you data reflects you may get a result a little over 6Mb.

Speedtest results to sites "outside" of Thailand will probably be slower (significantly slower for real world speedtest results on most internet packages/plans) due to the ISP's limited international bandwidth on its international gateway (i.e., less than its in-Thailand bandwidth), number of hops/choke points to the international sites, and various other internet factors to include factors associated with your local internet circuits, user/contention ratio, etc. Try the http://speedtest.net/ site to do some testing to international web sites and even a Bangkok site. As mentioned, below are some in-Thailand speedtest sites provided by the True, 3BB, and TOT ISPs.

Also, internet packages/plans are advertised in MegaBits not MegaBytes...1 Byte equals 8 Bits...so be sure you are not confusing yourself with your speed tests...speedtest sites normally report their results in Mb (MegaBits)...a lower case "b" means Bits while an upper case "B" means Bytes. "If", repeat, "if", your 400k you mentioned is in Bytes, that means your are getting 3.2Mb (bits) download speed to where ever you were testing...if you were testing to an international web site you are doing just fine in your download speed....a lot of folks in Thailand would kill for an international speed of 3.2Mb. Like me, I'm on a TOT 6Mb ADSL plan, get around 5.2Mb in-Thailand but only around 1 to 2Mb to sites outside of Thailand. But True is stringing cable TV and cable internet in my moobaan as we speak so in another month or so I will have speeds up to 100Mb down/10Mb up if I want to pay 4,499/mo for those speeds, but I will probably opt for the 20Mb down/2Mb up speeds at 1,399 Baht/mo.

It's all fixed now.

The router was synching @6MB so I called True.

They said they had to reset some info internally and now my net is faster now.

download @ 700KB/sec and upload is 50KB/sec

At home my modilation is set to auto and it syncs at adsl2+ with annex

but at work it only syncs at G.DMT

both are True 6MB packages.
