The British Embassy is advertising for an ECO for 4 - 6 weeks ! Here is the ad :

Must have worked as an ECO in the past two years. Applications must be in in by Monday. Start on 21st. Pretty tight criteria, and I doubt if there are many ex- ECOs just hanging around waiting for a job in Thailand to come up. Methinks, it is already earmarked for someone !

Interestingly ( and I have to admit to having taken it out of context ), the ad states " No formal training will be provided ". That could explain a lot !!! Some of the other criteria can raise a smile or two, judging by some of the comments on here.

Sounds like they already have their applicant, but are simply going to the required motions for job openings.
