Martial Status : Married to thai national (Wife)

Age: 40yrs

Visa ( Currently on 14 days stamp at the Cambodian Poipet border for the past 4 month) Tourist Visa Expired

I was told by a friend that i could apply for an extension of 2 month stay in Thailand @ the Immigration .and make payment of 1900 Thai Baht . All i need to do is bring my Thai wife along with supported documents.Is this true ?MORT

Yes it is a 60 day extension of stay to visit family member using the normal TM.7 form at 1,900 baht. Have a 4x6cm photo and copy of marriage certificate as well as the wife.

Your are aware you can extend one year at a time with proof of 400k in bank account 2 months or income of 40k per month. Failing that you could obtain a one year multi entry non immigrant O visa from KL with show of 100k in an account anywhere. That would require leaving country every 90 days for a few minutes but much better than every other week. The visa itself would cost about 5k.

Ok Marriage Certificate and our Child Birth Certificate. is this the 2 papers the would like to see ? Do i need to bring the wife Employment letters or something too ?

And after the 2 months ends can i extend another 2 month ?

Marriage certificate and birth certificate of child, copy of wife's ID card and household registration. The extension is only given 1 time in a row. After that you have to leave the country or apply for a 1 year extension of stay. (If you have 400,000 in a bank account in Thailand or an income of 40,000 a month (before tax and can be from abroad).

Yes you do need to bring the wife (and child). Proof of work or income is not necessary for a 60 day extension.

2.24 In the case of an alien visiting a Thai spouse or child:

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 60 days at a time.

(1) Proof of relationship.

(2) In the case of a spouse, their marital relationship shall be de jure (legitimate) and de facto.

Just got my Extension

Receive: 60 Days

I brought:

My Passport

Marriage Certificate : (Thai and Foreign)

House Registration

1 Photo

Wife ID Card

The wife

Our 3 Kids who never stop crying and nagging .

Nice officer no question ask went into the counter with the wife and kids to meet the officer she looked at the documents while listening to her ipod i paid 1900 Thai Baht and she asked us to wait outside, in about 5 mins Q number call again went in received the passport with 60 Days extention :)
