I recently booked a one way flight from LHR to BKK with Kingfisher Airlines. I was a bit worried about being allowed to board the plane, even though the Hull Consulate website was reassuring.

Please note that under Thailand's immigration rules it is allowed for a foreigner to fly to Thailand on a one-way ticket only if they are in

possession of a valid visa which they can present when they check-in for their flight to Thailand.

I emailed their customer service twice but didn't receive a response.

I then decided to call their (free-phone) number & a nice Indian lady reassured me that they would allow me to board the flight.:D

For fellow BMs information, I'll update the topic when I safely land on LOS soil, or not.:ermm:

Yes, that is correct. You can fly on a one way ticket if in possesion of a valid visa obtained from home country. Wishing you a safe journey and a happy time here. I have flown Kingfisher on a short haul flight few years ago and was mighty impressed. Do tell us about your experience.

Are you applying for a visa upon arrival ? it says visa issued in your home country. A tourist visa is issued on arrival. If you are concerned purchase a cheapo ticket on Air Asia out of Thailand within 30 days and everything will be fine. It isn't BKK that would be the problem it is the part time check in staff in LHR---

That's good to hear. I'll be sure to post a review of Kingfisher post flight; not that they're short of good ones.B)

I have a 60 day tourist visa from the Hull consulate, already in passport.

Tourist visas are not issued upon arrival. What you are talking about, or would be in my case, in a 30 day visa exemption. A 'visa on arrival' is much the same, except it is only for 15 days & given to those from 'less fortunate' countries.
