I've never traveled by myself before (I'm 20) so I'm not sure what my options are and I can't find people who can help me in Bangkok.

I went to Irish embassy yesterday and got an emergency passport and a letter explaining my situation and saying that I arrived in Thailand on Jan 22nd to show to the Immigration bureau (?) so they could stamp my emergency passport. I thought it was ok to go today, but it's closed because of the public holiday and it's closed over the weekend. My fault I know.

So, what can I do?! Can anything be done at the airport? Is their anywhere else I should go?! Really no place to go in 3 days for emergencies?!

I fly with Etihad airways, do I have to rearrange flights? And where can I do that?

Sorry guys, I'm totally clueless! Thanks for any help, will check thread later.

In Phuket it is OK to go to airport & sort there - arrive @ airport 1 hour earlier than scheduled. You seem to have enough paperwork, but a copy of police report is always helpful if (which you should of done) you filed one :jap:

you may be able to get the stamp fixed at Immigration office at the airport . BUT i would make sure you do it well before the departure of your flight. The immigration office and passport control, is different . There is an Immigration office at the airport but i dont know the hours. You need to do this before you check in, maybe early tomorrow.

IF NOT then you will have to delay your departure by contacting the airline. The office should be open today and tomorrow , Saturday.

Thanks. Yeah I gave police report to embassy to get the emergency passport, not sure if I got the report back, will have to check. Hoping it'll be ok to sort at the airport, I went today but I didn't find anyone who could help or understand my problem. Went to passport control in Departure area I think, didn't stay for long though, they just told me I had to go to Immigration office, which I can't!

They meant the immigrations office at the airport.

The immigration office would be closed - only airport assigned officials would be working on a holiday/weekend and they would not handle anything except for passengers I believe. Suspect he will be OK Sunday night but should allow extra time.

I would suggest the following:

1: Ensure you have a copy of your Eticket which will confirm your arrival date in Thailand. If you have the boarding pass from your arrival flight even better. If you have neither of the above contact the local Etihad agent, they are at the airport, not sure where your local office is. Either way get in touch with them BEFORE you go to the airport on Sunday in order to ensure your change of Passport details are aware to them. This will also save problems when you arrive in Abu Dhabi (assume you are going that route?). Remember this is new to you but not to a major airline like Etihad. If you have problems with Etihad call them on 022 5300 88 (Bangkok) or +971693 9711 (Abu Dhabi).

2. Ensure you have a copy of the Police report regarding your lost passport.

3. First point of contact is Etihad check in desk at the airport, they will be local staff, so the only inormation they will have is what they see on the computer screen. That is why it is important to follow point 1. Ask them to assist you at Immigration.

3. Get to the Airport Immmigration desk/Passport Control early, suggest at least 3 hours before your flight. You cannot get there earlier as check in will not open till 3 hours before flight time.

4. Be smart, be polite, be sober, don't get angry

5. Don't worry you are not the first you will not be the last.

And finally enjoy you last couple of nights/days.

It will all sort itself out.

Hope this helps.
