PAD claims to have no hidden agenda

BANGKOK, 19 February 2011 (NNT)-The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has insisted they have no hidden agenda other than to fight for democracy while also asking Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to reconsider the position of Second Region Commander Lt Gen Tawatchai Samutsakorn.

Co-Leader of People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), Major General Chamlong Srimuang told his PAD supporters not to follow him on 22 February 2011 as he is due to report to the Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO). According to Major General Chamlong, a mass demonstration could put unnecessary pressure on the CAPO officials.

He also denied rumors saying the PAD supporters are protesting against the Government because they want him to replace Mr. Abhisit. Meanwhile, he claimed Cambodia is showing concerns over the information which the PAD will soon reveal that could prove Cambodia wrong over the border dispute.

PAD spokesperson Panthep Puapongpan said Region Commander Lt Gen Tawatchai should also focus on the safety of Thai people living near the frontier and pressuring Cambodian soldiers to leave Phu Makhuea district, Sisaket province instead of dwelling on only achieving the permanent ceasefire.

Mr. Panthep also labeled Region Commander Lt Gen Tawatchai’s close relationship with a certain individual who has a strong connection with Cambodia an inappropriate move. He pressed the Prime Minister to launch an investigation into the matter.

They're not fighting for democracy, they're fighting for war.

there were rumours about the coup and pad as an instrument to do so.

they are the perfect match to the generals

some told direct, that the political problems are so big, that it would be good if there is a coup, the military takes over for 1-3 years and makes than new elections.

Many people agree to that. For me it is a strange idea but looking at all the politicians (and the vote buying) of Thailand I can perfectly understand the idea.

They're not fighting for democracy, they're fighting for war.

Yesterday Sonthi told his ideas clear:

Go step by step

protest at the ambassador: if not working

take back the Thai ambassador and send home the cambodian: if not working

close the borders (including the casinos: if not working

don't allow Cambodian freight ships in Thai waters: if not working

etc etc, that did not sound like war, it sound like a very logic responds.

As well it seems they help Cambodian labor with translating the informations about Hun Sen. Hun Sen is an evil dictator. Look at the south, any problems with Malaysia? No and the borders aren't clear as well.

The question is:

does PAD have a rational agenda?

They wear what they have on their sleave,

but does it make sense.

Next:

Are they being manipulated by other forces,

without understanding this is happening?

PAD are too spent a force to be used as catalyst for a coup, and there still remains little reason to stage one at this point, and it seems unlikely, since PAD is hardly a big enough reason to cause one. Regardless of those who see political advantage to running the boggieman of a coup up the flag pole and seeing who salutes it.

PAD was formed in the first place for one reason!

Revenge!

When 2 friends become worst enemies over money there are no boundaries.

Funny they have become active again just before elections.

What is good with PAD is that the agenda is not hidden.

Since the beginning they want "less democracy in Thailand + more war against Cambodia".

I remember, a few years ago, I mentioned it in this forum but the hatred against Taksin was so strong, on the stage and here, that the readers focused only on Taksin issue and did not believe me. Nevertheless, PAD has always been a fascist group and its ideology was and still is "less democracy in Thailand + more war against Cambodia".

Well, in all our countries we have such fascists but we manage to keep them marginal. Here, they give order to the PM.

The reason he gave was that there was only room for 1 other person on his scooter.

Yes that about sums it up - two squabbling Oligarchs battling to the death with Thailand being the arena, this does resemble the Truman show as so many people on the inside get diverted swallowing diversionary red herrings hook line and sinker instead of realising this is all about the alignment of a few snouts at the head of the feeding trough.

PAD should be mindful of the words attributed to Confucius: War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left.

But then again they didnt say they wanted war only the use of "Military might"

I suspect that should be "Might" as in 'might not be a good idea'
