No Pinned Topic For Uk Visit Visa?

I am surprised there is no pinned topic for this. I have tried searching and it looks like I am going to have to do alot of reading through alot of threads.

Does anyone know of a thread where the procedure is well defined? If so, can it be pinned?

This is for my long term Thai girlfriend who lives with me in Bangkok. She wants to come visit the UK to stay with me a while and see if she likes the UK. She is well educated and speaks good English. We don't have any plans to marry at present (but guess what she would love this!!!). I think this type of topic would be worth pinning?

yes i am currently doing the same thing, everything seems to be about settlement visas and im far from settling with my gf in england! i dont want to live there myself, im pretty sure she wont want to ha ha
