Nattawut to run for MP.

By Nuttaporn Chanchokpong.

BANGKOK, 27 February 2011 (NNT) - After being released from prison, Red shirt core leader Nattawut Saikua said he will run for MP position to represent people’s voice.

Mr Nattawut, who was released from jail on terrorism charges during the political protest in April-May 2010, led a group of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) to Wat Pathum Wanaram to commemorate the dead from the clashes last year.

Mr Nattawut believes that if the Democrat Party loses in the upcoming election, the old power could reject the election result. He urges all sides including Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the army to accept the result no matter how it comes out.

As many of the UDD leaders are already Pheu Thai MPs, Mr Nattawut said he would like to nominate himself, Korkaew Pikulthong and Kwanchai Praipana as MP candidates for the upcoming election. He claimed that they aimed to be voices for the people in parliament.
