Whoa there tiger. Looked like it was copied straight out of someones email, doesn't really seem right. My initial post was that it "appeared to be a rather private conversation", meaning that I can get the general idea but maybe not every little thing........so best to keep my peace rather than give you an incorrect translation wouldn't you say?, particularly as it's such a serious matter. Maybe you'll have better luck with more proficient members.

I think that most people that read Thai well enough will not be interpreting/translating this either.

It isn't that easy to translate so I had a Thai look at it. He opined that it was just prattle which is prevalent on the internet nowadays. I asked him if it was likely that the two had ever met and he said unlikely. She does say that the photo is good and that he is a good person and she doesn't know when they will be able to meet again, lots of 'miss you' but that means nothing in Thai and she would like to chat on the phone. She also askes if he is in London or Singburi which my friend said sounded like a joke.

If it was my wife I would ask her to explain it.

Anyway, it is fairly harmless stuff. What translates as 'miss you' isn't really the same as it is in English, more like 'thinking of you'. Having said that, I agree with someone else who said an explanation may well be in order.

All depends on who the other person is really.

I'll translate these, but please don't paste a bunch more private communications here. It can get uncomfortable quickly..

First one:

Subject: "Do you remember me?"

"Do you remember me? Or did you just randomly friend me [e.g. on Facebook], Ning from Singburi"

Second one:

"You're still as cute as ever / I really like this picture. It's a pity that the good ones like Ning are taken. / Thinking of you. Where are you living now? Singburi or London? / It's me, P'Am. Do you remember? My lovely magician / Thinking of Ning. I'd like to get your number so we can talk. Will I ever see you again? / Thinking of Ning."

Note: Thais tend to use the third person, with names instead of pronouns, so it may read a bit odd.
