Airport Re-Entry Permits

I remember sometime back that re-entry permits were available again at the airport. I am due to fly out in the next few days, and it will be much easier for me to fly direct into Swampy and get a connecting flight - without having to travel to the immigration office, which is a fair way from where I live.

Anyway, just want to know if they are still available?

They were certainly available last month, there was a very bored looking girl at a desk, marked re-entry permits, inside the the immigration hall. I didn't see anybody using it all the time I was queueing, hope people do use it or they may decide there is no demand for it any more.

However you need to be sure that connecting flight allows access - not sure of systems now but there used to be international check-in at regional airports and direct to transit lounge flights which might be a problem.
