Ebook Reader Pocketbook Pro 902/903?

Featured Replies

I have to say that I've never heard of the ebook reader you mentioned, but I use the Amazon Kindle, and it's great!!! It does a lot of file formats, has free wireless internet anywhere in the world, and the battery lasts for about 2 weeks!!! I know a few people with the Kindle, and everyone is very happy with their Kindles. I've also dropped my Kindle, and it keeps on working as good as the day it was opened! But this one that you are interested in looks pretty cool!

I'll rephrase my question: would appreciate advice where to buy an ereader (ebook reader) in Thailand.

Cheers.

The only place I've known to sell ebook readers in Thailand was www.mythaikindle.com. It's shut down now though, not surprisingly, as I recall they charged 10,000 baht for a Kindle that you can buy directly from Amazon.com for 4,000 baht including shipping and taxes, delivered in 4 days time.

Thanks. Is this 2.5x price markup typical to electronics & gadgets in Thailand, that is, is there any point (price-wise) in buying such items while on vacation there?.

2.5x markup is unusual. Whether it's worth buying gadgets here depend on the gadget and where you are from. US, Hong Kong and Singapore are generally cheaper for gadgets, Europe generally more expensive. Mass market stuff such as laptops are generally well priced but things that aren't so popular here is expensive.

While the Kindle may be popular amongst foreigners here, most Thais couldn't care less - Thai books are dirt cheap and plentiful and there are practically no Thai Ebooks available.
