I have security cameras with a DVR box and it does not work from outside as True is blocking the ports/traffic.

It is working in the office network and a WinXP computer would be ready to play server if anyone has a good idea about a other solution.

Yesterday the technician called True but did not get something on the phone...."block ports?? Type in www.google.com, does it work? YES of course, OK than your internet is working :annoyed:).

He'll try today to get a technician on the phone, but I don't have much hope....Or are there any open ports above 200?

I don't have True so can't comment on blocked or open ports but have you forwarded the relevant ports in your router?

Edit, also ensure that you're not using 80 or 8080 which most routers use for their Web-based configuration.

Crossy is right, check your port forwarding on your router. Also check your set up on your DVR and ensure that is OK also. Usually you have to also input into the DVR which ports you are using . . Whilst it may use default ports 80 or 8000 , if like mine you wish to remotely access the in built software and hence view your cctv's/sytem set up/recordings etc ., you may find you will also need to allow port forwarding for other ports, in my case 67 and 68. I have True and no problem.

yes the ports/port forward are set correctly, triple checked by me and triple checked by the technician.

We checked a different router already and today that guy comes with a complete set (including router) which is working in a other company.

It needs 3 ports:

TCP

HTTP

UDP

TCP and UDP can't be set lower than 200.

I can access my own router from outside, that does work, so I think it is not the http port.

Try ports with BIG numbers 30,000 and above, they are less likely to be blocked.

H90,

What DVR program do you use, Kodicom?

Does your ADSL modem has "Dynamic DNS setup"?

I have setup 15 CCTV systems in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand and from any place in the world you could access the CCTV systems - no problems at all!

Let me know.

Cheers,

M.

Solution: in the same small True network it somehow block itself. If I would go to my neighbor and watch my CCTV it does NOT work. Using my external IP and look myself inside does not work. But outside that area it works.

But using it from far away or another ISP it works. That problem confuse us.....

Just for information in case someone gets the same problem:

It worked, it worked from the beginning. But it does not work within the same network. Not in the same area.

He teamviewered to his home (very close) it does not work from there, he teamviewered to a friend outside Bangkok and it worked from there.

It works from Austria (very slow).
