Hi All,

Sorry if this has been posted before but I am hoping we can use your expert advice on our situation. We have entered Thailand from Cambodia with a 'Visa on arrival' for 15 days and have been looking into extending our visa or doing a visa run. We have been quoted prices of 850 baht if we hand our passports in for 2 working days in order to get another Cambodian visa. We came up with the idea of the bus South to Malaysia as we believe that UK citizens are issued with a 90 day visa to Malaysia on arrival at no cost then we could re-enter Thailand for another 15 days when crossing back, is this correct?

Would there be any problems when it came to the end of our second 15 day visa if we tried to enter Malaysia again? If so it would probably make sense for us to travel a bit around Malaysia before getting our second 15 day visa to Thailand then flying somewhere else to avoid entering Malaysia a second time if it would cause problems?

Sorry if any of the above is confusing but I hope it makes enough sense that you will be able to help us out.

Thanks guys.

I'm quite sure your best bet would be to go the nearest Thai consulate (not sure which is the best for you) and get yourself a tourist visa, good for 60 days on entering Thailand.

NO problem doing what you are suggesting, you get 15 days by Land entry and 30 days by Air entry to Thailand. You can use that method as many times as you like.

Happy Trails !:jap:

Personally I would go back to Cambodia or Lao and apply for double entry tourist visa that's is 2X60/30=6 months . They are still free until march 31.

Thanks for all your help guys, have put our minds at ease :)

We only planned on spending a couple of weeks in the North and a couple in the South anyway so think we will go to Malaysia as it saves us the cost of a Cambodian visa and if we need more than 15 days in the South we will be close(ish) to the Malaysian border anyway to do it again.

Thanks again!
