Uk Tourist Visa

Need to get a tourist visa for my wife to visit the UK, can we apply from Chiang Mai? How long does it take?

She has previously held a settlement visa to the UK so it should just be a formality getting this one.

Sorry to be pernickety but you don't get a visa for your wife, she has to apply herself

Your wife can submit her application on line, though she will have to physically attend the VFS office in Bangkok to submit a hard copy of her application, her supporting documents and passport and to have her biometric details captured. She doesn't need to stay in Bangkok after submitting her application, VFS will arrange to send her passport back to your home at a price.

I understand that tourist visas are currently being processed fairly quickly.

is it possible to apply for a settlement visa from the UK whilst on a Tourist visa?

If you mean can you apply within the UK while in the UK as a tourist; no.

However, having returned to Thailand one can then apply in Thailand, even if the tourist visa has yet to expire.
