My wife and friends have now completed the visitor visa forms and collected all the other documents and will procede to Regent House on Friday to submit them. What is the procedure when they get there and what time do they open? I would think getting there early is best. Will they be given a number and then wait to be called to submit the application? Also is there a bank in the building where they can get the cashier check to pay the visa fee? Thanks for all the previous help. I hope this will be my last request!

If they had done an online application they could have made an appointment with a set time. They can now just pitch up the office, fairly early, and yes they will be given a queue number and will have to wait their turn. Make sure they don't get hijacked by one of the numerous 'agents' lurking around Regent House offering to 'check their application'. Also warn them about the office next door which can be confused with the VFS office, they look pretty official, again they will offer to check the application and will inevitably find something wrong, which they will be able to correct for a fee. The VFS office is clearly marked and will have a security guard outside, though people do sometimes stand in front of the sign. It's probably not as bad as I make out and I'm sorry if I sound alarmist, but people do get caught out.

Yes, they can get a cheque at a bank on the ground floor, but to save time they could get one tomorrow free of charges at one of the Bank Of Ayudhya branches listed on the VFS website, that will also save them a bit of time on the day. http://www.vfs-uk-th.com/applying.aspx

Spaniel, please, please stop starting a new topic every time you have a question about your wife's visa application; it is very confusing. Please keep it all in one topic; it makes it easier for members to follow and avoids duplication. Thanks.

Sorry about that. They go tomorrow to apply so this will be the last from me on the UK visa. I must say you, theoldgit and others have been real helpful. But be warned if they get the UK visa then they will be applying for a Swiss visa. They already have an appointment date for 18 April so I'll probably have a few questions concerning that procedure. thanks again for all the replies.
