The Food and Drug Administration will monitor unauthorised orange juice products after health officials warned they could be harmful.

The FDA warned customers to carefully check the labels on orange juice products before drinking. Some products were produced without FDA approval, said Boonterm Tansurat, from the Samut Prakan Public Health office.

His team found 10 illegal brands, two of which contained yeast and fungus that could affect the internal organs.

Dr Sataporn Wongcharuen of the FDA said the Public Health Ministry had asked its officers in all provinces to monitor the unauthorised products.
