Visa Runs

Featured Replies

Hi

after having another crap visa run yesterday I'm looking for a different company to use

some off the problems encountered are big diversions to drop people of at boat pier for KO Lipi or langwavi ,old crap minivan ,driver stopping in rubbish petrol stations so no food to eat also driving less than 1 hour after leaving border driver stopped then no more stops for 3 hours then to top it all off driver started stopping at bus stops and picking up locals to drop off along the way he was charging the locals so our visa bus turned into a baht bus any one have any good recomendations of a company to use in krabi ie straight to border and back in a nice minivan shouldn't be to hard should it

many thanks

Actually one of my hostel guests is doing a visa run tomorrow to Malaysia. When she returns tomorrow evening, I'll get her feedback and post the details of the company etc

Reckon we've all had the same experiences here ! Don't believe that there's anything to choose between all of these operators ....luck of the draw if you catch them on a good day or not ! Personally believe it's worth the expense to hire a car ,especially if you can team up with another "runner" . Alot more comfortable ...and at least your life ,itinerary and time is in your own hands !

There are daily flights to Singapore and return the following day. I know, it's more expensive, but you get what you're paying for.

Yes I loped into flying to kl but you have to stay overnight this would cost approx 10,000 bht this would be 10 times the normal cost I have come to the conclusion no matter where you book in krabi you are going to end up with the same company taking you I'm thinking off just getting married to my girlfriend to end all these visa runs drastic measures but tit............

KL is really not a bad option if you can plan way ahead and get a good deal with Air Asia....bt2-3000 rtn . The Tune airport hotel is Ok for a night ( 800bt with no frills) -a short walk across the car park . Plenty of restaurants and a 7-11 .....but take a good book with you ...or bus into KL maybe ?

Getting hitched is good ...but don't forget to factor in the "sin-sot" !

Cheers !

Has anyone tried to arrange a car share?

Someone rents, or provides a car, and share the costs/driving with two or three others.

Just an idea.

Could be complicated. If one person needs to visit the consulate and the other two just want aborder crossing.

A true lesson for all who needed it in stating the bleeding obvious.
