Thanks guys

I have mercury fillings and the amount thats been exposed regarding their toxicity is enough now for me to change them. However the alternative is extremely high in fluoride content.

Guess its back to wood then :-)

My 2 setangs worth. I have been going to "Dentaland" #7 soi 17 Nimmanheman ( 053224578) for many years, and found them to be most professional and caring people.I suspect that the "Better" dentists in CM do the rounds, as most specialist dentists seem to work only one or two days a week in a particular surgery, at other times they are lecturing at uni, or working elswhere.

DrF

James,

Amalgam fillings should be removed following safety procedure protocols - be very careful and read up on it if you havn't done so already.

If a dentist only uses a mouth dam whilst removing them it is better than nothing, but nowhere near sufficient protection.

Huge amounts of mercury are released when these fillings are drilled and removed. There are protocols to safely remove them which protects yourself and the dentist.Agreed that the replacements are not brilliant either, but a lot better than mercury and if you go to an holistic dentist they use the safest materials and check compatibility with your body.

I can't find any dentist in Chiang Mai that removes amalgams safely,or really takes the issue seriously as most seem to be putting new amalgam fillings in peoples mouths.

Search holistic dentistry - Hal Huggins.

It's unbelievable that dentists have put mercury the second most toxic element in the world behind plutonium into our mouths next to our brains and told us it's safe because they've mixed it with a bit of silver!

Here's a place I found on my research with some info on the correct removal protocol (I'm thinking about going there myself to get mine done) - :

The reason I suggested Grace Clinic is because this is where I go to have my dental work. They are better than any I have been to in the states at a fraction of the cost.

Grace Dental Clinic is probably the best dental clinic in Chiang Mai. You can look them up on line.

Interesting, how do you know this?

Thanks for the links.

I listened to the interview with Huggins through Google and he raises some interesting points. Once again vitamin c seems to be the best protection, this time against mercury poisoning.

I could go into the reasons why they banned vitamin b17 and how that would have helped but I guess thats for another post.

If you find any info on a decent dentist that will remove them safely please post them and I will do the same.

P.S There is only one in Thailand that is fluoride free (Thipiniyom, (yellow tube)) but unfortunately comes in an aliminium tube. Gonna start amking my own now I think,

Nonsense. Most dentists in C.M. just like dentists in Europe and the USA won't remove amalgam fillings just for the sake of it. I've spoken at length with my dentist in California who is a Professor at U.S.C. (one of the best dental schools in the world) about any possible danger. He says all the stuff written on the Internet is hogwash, they have been using these fillings for years. If they were so dangerous, they would have been outlawed years ago.

And the dental clinic recommended above? In the Philippines with a Thailand phone number?? Sounds sketchy to me.

I'm sorry to say but your friend will be disputed by over 80-90% of dentists including ones within his university (Dr. David Eggleston.)

To say its hogwash and your reason being is because it hasnt been outlawed then perhaps you should refer to the tobacco industry which lied for years. The governments turned a blind eye as long as their pockets were lined unitl they realised how much money it was costing their health services and that their bribes were actually pointless.

Do any of the 80-90 % dentists belong to the American Dental Association? I have not been able to find anything on their web site to support your view.

Where is your information from so I can look into this for my own knowledge?

Regarding the ADA, I am not quoting my information from there but actually from a BBC documentary I watched a couple of years ago. Search on 'youtube' as their seems to be other channels which have also done docs on this

The doctor I quoted above is Tom Cruise's dentist and it's worth watching his interview. The dentist had his mercury fillings removed for the exact reasons I'm talking about.

To be honest though and I don't mean to offend any American but the ADA is not someone I would look for info from. Thats like asking the UN for the truth about Libya.

Browsing their website they clearly promote fluoride in water which has now, even on bloody Fox news (only to add more hatred towards Obama mind you...which he probably deserves) been shown to be a complete experimental scam.

If you really wanna find out some debatable info start following David Icke and Alex Jones, now they really go to town on it.

Or just see mercury fillings link to Alzheimers.

So we have a Scientology celebrity's own dentist and faux news, too!

You know, that's enough for me. I don't even need to follow the other two, uh, visionaries.

I'm sure you are right. Now get some rest and try to think about happy things.

I really have no idea what Scientology has to do with teeth fillings and I think you may have missed the point in me mentioning Fox news, but, if it makes you happy to ignore what I'm saying then so be it.

Good luck at your next dental appointment lol

Perhaps the reasons why the ADA have not given the truth about mercury amalgam fillings is because it and 95% of its members would be sued out of existence if they do.

Removed amalgam fillings are classified as an Envirinmentall Hazardous Substance and require extreme caution and the use of specialist toxic waste contractors for disposal. Why would amalgams be hazardous outside the mouth, but not inside?

Amalgams as mentioned have been linked to Alzheimers and auto immune illnesses... oh and also read up on health problems linked to root canal fillings,

Interesting video here:

Regardless of what governments, professors & some dentists say, there is a large & growing body of peer-reviewed scientific evidence as to the longterm harm done to the human body by mercury amalgam fillings.

This evidence can be accessed online- just do the obvious Google searches.

I Highly recommend Dr. Yugo at Y & B Dental..

A Japanese Dentist who is married to a Thai Dentist, he is Well educated and speaks English.

This is a friendly , home based , husband and wife team.. No bureaucracy, just simply good work at fair prices..

Costs More than a Thai Dentist , less than a Farang Clinic...:whistling:.

Great Price and Professional Work.. I am glad I found him and have many friends who now use his services religiously.:clap2:

Not a Commercial investment aimed at Farangs

Check him out...

Thanks guys

It's great to see so many people aware of this.

The Y & B has been mentioned twice now but there website mentions nothing of how they operate on or remove fillings. Might have to take a trip down there.

i went to dentaland for a checkup and cleaning yesterday and have to say they were outstanding. assume they're as good for fillings and the like as they were for this. first time i've been to a dentist in thailand and i was enormously impressed.

Every time you replace a filling it halves the life of the tooth.

It usually does more harm than good.

Where'd you get that one from?

Had my amalgam mercury fillings removed 3 years ago and replaced with the absolute best material...... gold.

I did this after thoroughly researching all filling materials and subsequently found out that gold fillings STRENGTHEN the tooth, not weaken it.

I have to admit that I feel an enormous sense of relief having had my amalgam mercury fillings removed and regularly admire my gold fillings in the mirror after brushing my teeth!
