I currently have a married persons extension of stay which expires on 6th May.

I have been offered a teaching job at an Issan High School commencing mid May and the school have confirmed that they will supply the relevant paperwork to enable me to get a Non Imm B visa and thereafter a teachers licence and work permit.

I assume that all I will need to get the Non B will be a letter from the school confirming the job offer and a copy of the contract of employment but would appreciate anybody who has obtained a Non B for teaching purposes advising whether I will need to take anything else.

I plan to go to Vientiane and would also appreciate confirmation that they will process the application there.

Are you unable to renew your current extension of stay for marriage? You should not need to get a B visa to work and those on extensions of stay are allowed to obtain work permits and work. Can't answer document question but know it is normally less than for non teachers.

Regrettably I have had to dip into the 400k that I kept for the married persons extension due to an unforseen and substantial expenditure.

Many people are convinced by schools that it can not be done so just wanted to be sure you knew it was an option if meeting the requirements. Hopefully a teacher can advise on paperwork requirements at Vientiane.
