OOPS!  i don't know what I was thinking!  I meant Myanmar,  nor malaysia,  and I'm in BKK.  Tourist

drummer, i'm still a bit confused of what you're asking. Jack's Golf does one day trips to Cambodia which will get you 30 day entry visa, not a 60 day tourist. the cost is 2000 B, includes the visa and a buffet lunch at a casino. overall the service is great.

you can also get a 30 day visa at the Myanmar border. there are 3 crossings - Mae Sai in Chiang Rai province, Mae Sot in Tak, and Ranong. I think the closest is Mae Sot (about 10 hrs from BKK. all three places are of mild interest.

if a 60 day tourist visa is what you're after, then you'll to venture to the capital of either country and get it from the thai consulate.

hope this helps!

good luck!

As already posted the company you are refering to only go to Cambodia and you will only be able to obtain a 30 day entry stamp.

If its a single or double entry tourist visa you are after (good for 90 or 180 day stay in total) then the Thai Consulate in Penang Malaysia is your best bet............either fly down or go by train.

Actually was are as confused as OP as we do not know what he may have or not have. If he has a real tourist visa entry to use he will get a 60 day entry; if he has a real non immigrant visa entry to use it will be 90 days. But if, as we assume, he has neither it will be a 30 day entry without visa stamp (again - assuming he is from one of the 40 odd countries allowed this).

Now if he is looking for a visa he is not going to find it on a border run/return as operated by the firm he mentioned.

That one wasn't mistake. I generally know the options to cambodia - Jack Golf et al. But I recently went to Ranong and quite enjoyed it (mostly) and am interseted in what the nearest Burmese border crossing is. So thanks for the answer, MickeyC.

I'f after the 30 day. Have done Jacks Golf a number of times but I aws wondering if they have everything sorted out now, and what the best options are these days. Do they still go to Poi Pet?

Thanks

OP is American teaching here with Thai wife..........i/d hazard a guess that he's border hopping every 30 days. :o

Edit.....since he just posted 13 secs before me, better add i've nothing against border hoppers. :D:D

went with jacks Golf ... still going to Poi Pet. Left at 7, back before 4. Had to wait in line on the Thai side - although pretty short lines. Don't know if they changed to cooks or if their was a salt explosion at the Holiday Park, but the food was downright terrible this time ...
