I'd like to share my thought for today with you.

If I am always comparing myself with other human beings, I will SUFFER from ego or jealousyI actually started this on another thread to great response, but the Buddhist mod. closed it.

Time is what keeps everything from happening all at once.

Rather than woodenly completing a task, I will approach it as something that can be made interesting. Instead of travelling to work to reach my destination, I will think of this routine as part of the picture I paint today. When a friend makes a comment, I will think of it as another brush stroke in my painting and join in with them, rather than making a game or contest which I must try to win.

I was taught that success was having the highest score, always trying to be right, striving for financial security, or pushing myself to some new achievement.

Success may not be coming out on top.

When my life is lived as a rich and interesting painting, I find myself rewards that are far deeper and more lasting.

May the picture I paint today be one I carry with me and appreciate.

All I want from life is happiness.

There's varying degress of happiness and right now money brings me the greatest bliss!

That being said... money brings me happiness because with money comes freedom and with freedom is indepenence and security. Its's sad that this is how the world functions.

I hate money yet I want $1,000,000,000 so that I could live my life with no worries forever and have the luxury of knowing my future generations will have all the freedom money provides.

God I really hate money... freedom brings me happiness.

Today a guy at my work from Pakistan was telling me a story about this poor man who had his leg blown off by a gang just because they were bored and it just makes me have to appreciate the freedoms I do have in Canada and all of the opportunities alloted to me that the majority of the worlds populace will never have.

It's sad too to see how the world is one big hole that's policed by rich ignorant countries.

Yeaa... enough ranting. I'd re-read what I just wrote to make sure I didn't say anything lame... but I'm sure I did :o

I searched for years to find happiness through travelling and living in different countries, weird religious techniques, drugs and booze, etc.

The answer, happiness was right under my nose! Nothing to do with all the material things in life.

Am I rich, yes I suppose I am. :o

But certainly not in money.

May you find you riches. :D

The answer, happiness was right under my nose! Nothing to do with all the material things in life.

I don't drink or do drugs. I keep my body clean and in as best shape as I can muster.

Money itself doesn't make me happy. Freedom makes me happy for the time being... I'm finding that methods of happiness is constantly changing.

Right now I'm happy and content. Sure I might worry about future things but, I never worry about the past because what's done is done. Live in the present and look forward to what the future brings and remember the past.

Right. We're consumers. We're by-products of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty -- these things don't concern me. What concerns me is celebrity magazines, television with five hundred channels, some guy's name on my underwear. Rogaine, Viagra, Olestra.

It's all going down, man! So ###### off, with your sofa units and your green stripe patterns. I say never be complete. I say stop being perfect. I say let's evolve and let the chips fall where they may. But that's me, I could be wrong, maybe it's a terrible tragedy.

Well, you did lose a lot of versatile solutions for a modern life.

No, I don't smoke. My insurance will probably cover it, so...

I always liked this poem:
