News_Editor Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Mexican army convoy flips over killing 5 soldiers 2011-03-22 10:23:03 GMT+7 (ICT) MEXICO CITY (BNO NEWS) -- At least five Mexican soldiers were killed and 24 others injured after a military truck flipped over on Monday in the central region of Mexico, officials said. The accident occurred in the outer limits between the state of Mexico and the state of Michoacan on the Maravatio and Atlacomulco stretch of the Morelia highway. The National Defense Secretary convoy was returning from a military operation carried out in Michoacan. Three soldiers died at the scene and two others later succumbed to their wounds after being taken to a hospital. Ten of the 24 injured are reportedly in serious condition. Following the accident, wounded soldiers were airlifted by Mexico State Force Agency helicopters and transported to the Military Hospital in Mexico City. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2011-03-22
