Russian Steals 100K-Baht Golden Chain

PATTAYA: -- A Russian man snatched a 100,000 Baht golden chain and fled away with it as soon as the shop owner turned away from him.

Pattaya, 25th March 2011 [PDN]: At 02:00 a.m., while Police Lieutenant, Arun Prompan of Pattaya Tourist Police Department and the tourist police team were on patrol, the 63-year-old Mrs. Paradee Lertkitsathapond approached them. She was the owner of King Star jewellery shop. She reported that a male foreigner had snatched a 130-gram golden chain (worth about 100,000 Baht) from her shop and then he ran away immediately.

No doubt some of his new imates will take a shine to his GOLD RING when locked up...

There is no way that that necklace is 130-grams, that converts to around 8.5 Baht in weight (one baht = 15.244 grams).

Looking at that necklace I would guess it to be a 1 Baht chain and worth far less than 100,000 Thai Baht.

Classy up-market tourism.

The Russian guy is probably currently haggling about the value of the chain with the police. :D
