I'm moving to Finland at the end of the year and taking my two dogs with me. I would prefer a direct flight from Bangkok, even if it's more expensive. The flight is long enough as it is, and I don't want to put the dogs into even more distress by having a stopover. Are there any direct flights? Can't seem to find any. Any recommendations as the fastest, safest, best way to make it to Finland with animals?

I see that Finn Air had a flight (AY90 or AY96) that, depending on season, runs almost daily from BKK to HEL.. So, from a convenience stand point this would be ideal.. Alternatively, KLM is widely known to be excellent with the transport of live animals and they have a first-rate handling facility in AMS for those animals in transit..

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I was hoping there was another direct flight besides Finn Air, but it seems not. Finn Air charges 30 euros per kilo for pets. One of my dogs is 35 kg + 10 kg for the carrier. So ouch. I'll pay it if it's my best/only choice, but still. Ouch.

@ Gopbi. Do you know of anybody who used KLM to bring pets into Finland? I'm worried about the transport time/transit, but you mention they're good with animals.
