Anyone know if anyone owns or has lost a fully grown blondish haired golden retriever,? Usual friendly type, well feed! It was found about 1 Km up from Maenam Temple... not your average Soi dog. There is a Thai guy who I know, walking around trying to find it's owner.... PM me and can put you in contact

Well I don't see much point, in posting a pic, anyways it's raining...& I ain't going out to hunt... him and the dog down ;) not sure where the guy who is doing the good deed, would be now.. he's walking around with the dog on a leash... one of the guys who works at Canopy Adventures, who cannot work due to wash out on road going up there....

Kudos to him, he does a lot of community work around Maenam, after his normal day's work. His name is Emmy, English is good...

Either some one missing a Golden Retriever (light coloured) dog or not... I will check with him later to see if he has found it's owner... and then try to get pic, if not found it's owner... !

I think it was a male!

Well the dog's home was found, (owner not there) but there are tenants in the house, and keep letting it out... of the gated /walled garden...

Oddly enough it turned out, I did know the dog, it lives next to some friends several kms from me.... it had been away for 4 days. I never did quite get how Emmy found were it lives, but he walked it all the way the the house, where it lives....:)

So that's good news!

By the by..... Canopy Adventure Zip line will be open, weather permitting.... Need to book for pickup points.... as road is too rough for bikes....

He's baaaaack! Sam the Retriever!

I had hoped this tread was happily done with, but not so...

The people who are renting the house of the owner of the dog, seem to not want him there and keep letting it out...

The owner of house & dog is only here for about 3 months of the year. The neighbour who used to look after the dog, has better things to do than being tied down with it. (can't say I blame him, the owner is a "cheap b..... " and thinks it would be a neighbourly thing to look after his dog, for free..... )

It turned up at the same guys house as before, (not sure what the attraction is there? it's a number of kilometers away) ... he would not have known the dog, either.

I don't thing fair to add to Samui Dog Rescue Centre with their all ready burdened load....

If this was in the west, SPCA would deal with it and no doubt charge the owner...

But anyway it leaves a bit of a dilemma as to what to do with it.

The Thai guy is keen to keep it....I think he'd look after it well (better than the owner at least) ... but a bit concerned about affording the cost of the food, especially with a baby due anytime.... although he did say he may take to his family in Pattaya....

They say cats find their masters, I think this dog may have found his...? But wonder if any full time resident might want to take him on?

Any opinions...?

What a sad predicament for this lovely dog to be in....and all through the cheap charlie thoughtlessness of its owner. :realangry:

Hope things work out for the dog....and that this irresponsible muppet never has a pet again.

Well, the young fellow has kept the dog... I think it will get looked after ...

Yes, Retrievers are great dogs! But all dogs are such a tie down... Cats just a bit less needing of attention & having to be home!

Dear Samuii Jimmy,

I am not sure if it is too late to ask about Sam the dog. I live with my wife on a farm in Thamaka, Kanchanaburi. We have Golden retriever already and would take this dog to spoil rotten as well. If it is still in need. If it is happy with the Thai guy then sobeit. If still in need of a home. Let me know. We could rive out to the coast and you could meet us there for the handover.

I see Sam occasionally, he's being well looked after.... certainly happier than he was, I think... next time his new "keeper" stops by, I will ask, if he / they still want to keep it. He and his wife have just had baby, so perhaps too much now? although they are pretty easy going couple... Will let you know!

Latest update on Sam! Well.... he's been well looked after, when I last saw him he was in the middle of a "doggy wash" and is being well pampered..... He's staying with his new adopted owner....

I meant to post that a week or so ago! :)
