vistana
Can anyone recommend a good vet in Hua Hin for our two month old Shih Tzu puppy who since going to one vets has been licking and scratching her rear end and neck, she was given a liquid worming medicine and had her temperature taken which was normal but she won't sleep or each much at all at the moment, we did take her back to the same vets but they said don't worry it will settle down, she is now whining a lot and very unsettled, any tips and recomendations would be very welcome, not sure if this is the right forum, maybe better in the pets one? Thanks Vistana
tuktukmike
We have had this same problem before with our animals, I would say the dose was far too strong for a small dog. There is a vet situated on petkasem road, heading south its the first left after traffic lights. chomsin road lights. Or you could try Hua Hin Veterinary Hospital which is along the klong road, tel,032 514264/514256. TTM
sam666
Smor Prong, drive towards immigration on Khong Klang (sp?) road, after the lights and tee junction, keep going (you will see a market on the right after junction) keep going and it's on the right before the gas station on the right. It's next to a few shops, PS Zone is on on the end I think and the pink supermarket. Eitherway it's between the lights and gas station, you shouldn't miss it, well before the bridge and the tippawan housing soi.
vistana
Thanks for your replies, we will give both a ring and ask for advice, she seems a bit better today but still licking and scratching her backside and base of her tail, no sign of any flees etc..... Perhaps TTM your right the worming dose may well have been too strong, she has started to eat a bit this morning as well which is a good sign. Will keep you posted. Thanks very much Vistana

hhfarang
Your best and safest option would be the new(ish) government veterinary hospital just south of Takiab on the highway headed towards Pranburi. It is a state of the art teaching veterinary hospital; one of the best in Thailand I've heard and many friends (who have lost animals because of bad vets in town including some mentioned above) go there now and highly recommend it. Are there any signs for this place as I cant say the vets we have used are really that good. How many Ks would you say past the flyover. hhfarang
Guessing between 1 and 2 K's past the flyover on the left side. Big building on nicely landscaped land with white board fence. It's immediately at the south edge of Takiab (between Takiab and the new military golf course.
sam666
They really should put some blue signs up .... and do some press, dam_n they got signs just outside Pranburi telling you about the water market and it's not even half way finished.
tuktukmike
Thanks for the info, Our big old english tom cat needs to pay a visit to them. Back to the local vets query, be carefull when you buy the frontline tick and flea capsules. If you give them too strong a dose you will end up all night trying to bathe the liquid off them. For some strange reason it can become very irritable to cats and dogs in the wrong dose. TTM Edited April 12, 2011 by tuktukmike

Look out for the 'Banyan Estate' on your right hand side and the Vetenary university training hospital is on your left immediately past the first road on your left that you come to. You can't miss it, it has a huge stone sign outside the entrance and is surrounded by huge landscaped gardens. Does anybody know what days and hours this is open; do you have to make an appointment etc?

PaulHamon
Want a good English speaking vet in Hua Hin, Vet Peace is the answer.https://www.facebook.com/102petclinic/ Her place is small, it's on Soi 102 but she takes the time to talk to you, she lived in USA for a few years and speaks perfect English. Her she is 4 years ago in a video with my wife who is a dog trainer in Hua Hin.
