September 27, 200520 yr NGV WILL HELP LOWER BENZENE CONSUMPTION BY 100% The Assistant to the Energy Minister, Mr. PAIJIT TIENPAITOON (ไพจิตร เทียนไพฑูรย์), has expressed confidence with the campaign to encourage motorists to turn to the Natural Gas for Vehicle (NGV), as it can help significantly lower benzene consumption in Thailand by 100%. Mr. PAIJITgave a lecture on the topic of ‘Thailand’s Policy towards NGV Usage’ yesterday (September 26th). Following the lecture, he revealed that the government has assigned the Ministry of Energy to draw up a plan to stimulate NGV consumption among motorists. The plan is aimed at lowering the consumption of benzene, diesel, bio-diesel and gasohol in the country by 100%, 30% and 10% respectively. At the present, the domestic retail price of NGV stands at 8.50 baht per kilogram. The Assistant to the Energy Minister said further that PTT Plc is now working on a project to expand the number of NGV service stations. With the current number of only 37 stations, the expansion is being made to cover every region across the country. Source: thaisnews.com ประจำวันอังคารที่ 27 กันยายน 2548 Comment by JD: by 100%? September 27, 200520 yr The Assistant to the Energy Minister, Mr. PAIJIT TIENPAITOON obviously bought his education rather than earned it. "encourage motorists to turn to the Natural Gas for Vehicle (NGV), as it can help significantly lower benzene consumption in Thailand by 100%"
September 27, 200520 yr "lower benzene consumption in Thailand by 100%[/b]" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL that some creative math... The real problem with this idea is the expense of converting/mfg'ing cars to run on nat gas and their filling stations. the best solution would be a gas to liquids refinery. yes, they can make really clean diesel from nat gas. im kicking myself for selling shares in a startup gas to liquids company here in the states. the stock has doubled in just 1 year. the big oil co's are getting into the action and hopefully the technology will be used worldwide SOON. synm is the symbol on the nasdaq if anyone wants to take a look i believe the technology was developed because there are many smaller nat gas fields that are far away from supply pipelines so its not worth it to extract.
September 27, 200520 yr And what will happen to the price of natural gas once everyone has converted? Was done in the past with diesel, would happen again.
