A few years ago stayed at a hotel on the inside of the moat, they had water out front to play with but decided to turn it off about halfway through the day... no explanation! Hoping to find a hotel for one night in the city, preferably on the moat but either way one that will have some water available and family friendly.

This doesn't answer your hotel question, but might be of interest if you are looking to keep kids entertained.

I noticed yesterday that there is a water-park type attraction being erected at the corner of Nimanhemin and Huay Kaeo Roads. They had a huge inflatable water slide and some paddling pools and the like.
