with regards to this law which says we have to have 30000 40000 on our person when doing a visa run is this true????? i have done many visa runs mostly in Ranyong and never heard or seen this enforced is it just another one of these as i say thaibulls##T

...well...just 10000 would be ok...but I heard this only occur (sometimes) in Maesai...never heard about this happening in Poipet...don't know about others borders.

I don't use visas...I just get a 30 day entry card every 30 days...When I leave Thailand there is a sign at immigration stating that you have to show 10,000 baht if you return to Thailand for a 30 day stay and more if you have a longer visa but I don't remember how much it is for the longer stays since I never do that one. Everytime I leave and return (it takes about 1 hour) I take 10,000 baht with me and just briefly show it upon re-entering Thailand.
