BEIJING (BNO NEWS) -- Ten people were killed on early Thursday morning when a man went on a killing spree in northeast China, state-run media reported on Friday.

The state-run Xinhua news agency said the killings took place between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning in Ertaizi village, located in Anshan City of Liaoning Province. The bodies were discovered on Thursday morning.

Police said the suspected killer was identified as 33-year-old Zhou Yuxin, who owns both a bathhouse and a neighboring car wash in the village. The murders took place at both locations, Xinhua reported.

The victims were identified as Zhou's wife, son, and father, as well as a female bathhouse worker, three car wash employees, and three members of Zhou's landlord family. Police believe extramarital affairs are the motive behind the killings.

Zhou was still being sought on Friday.
