silk123 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Well i have a thai bank account so the best way i take it is to have my sister send the money into my account here. And to tell the bank in homecountry to send it in euro and let the thai bank exchange it as better rate. Can someone confirm. Appreciate it.
lopburi3 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Money should arrive in Thailand as foreign currency for the best exchange rate so yes send euro. Am not sure if you need currency paperwork for what you plan but for a condo purchase to be used for visa or later sending funds out of Thailand might require special procedures and may have to come from an account in your name (but have never checked that).
Khun Bob Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Is it absolutely necessary that the money must arrive in a foreign currency for a condo/property purchase (for the benefits you have outlined - visa and taking the money out ) ? If so could you indicate where this is stated in the appropriate place ? I ask this as I can potentially get a better rate and have more control over the rate i get by using a currency broker in my home country.
