Been searching around the forum/google and got alot of mixed answers to this question, also from out dated posts. Plus I dont have the work permit yet.

Im on a non-b multiple entry visa. My first 90 days is up and I wanted to know, do I either have to report to immigration or leave the country and come back in? The work permit has not been done yet, application will be sent off next month which is after the 1st entry is up. If Its to report or leave, do I have to have any docs with me?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You have to leave the country and can return straight away, after having entered and left another country.

You don't need any docs for that, other than maybe pay for a visa for the other country.

I'm curious how you got a 1 yr non-B ? Normally they issue only 30 or 90 days don't they? Then after that you get the 1 year am I right Mario or not?

Got a 1 year multiple entry non-b from Hull in the UK. Had the company send over its document for wanting me to work and sent it right back! Just the work permit is taking a little longer than I anticipated!

Thank you for the reply, Will now try to find a good place to go. Always used to do the cambodia runs on my Non-O but not sure they do them now!

Thanks again Mario!

As long as you enter and leave another country you will activate a new entry (and a new 90 days), so if you fancy a flight to singapore for a day's shopping and fly back, that counts. Crossing into Laos, Cambodia, or Myanmar by land is just as good. Singapore and Myanmar will not use a full page of your passport for the stamp.

After you have a WP and IF you get an annual permission to stay stamp, you will need a re-entry permit if you leave the country to keep the annual extension of stay alive even if your multi-entry visa is still valid. When you have the annual extension of stay you, or someone in your company, can do the 90 day reporting. No need to leave. You can continue getting annual extensions of stay based upon employment even though your original multi-entry-visa has expired.

You do the 3 month visa bounce on a non b if not working. only docs are the normal ones required by the country you are entering. thats what i am doing now, works out 15 months if you do last bounce just before visa is up.

Malaysia was just passport, Cambodia Passport, copy of passport and 1 or 2 pictures (cant remember). 1000 baht entry, 100 excess for not staying overnight and 300 for the paper work to be done. would rather do the paper work myself and enter but seems difficult crossing i use.

have noticed now they are asking for mobile number when coming into Thailand on TM card. has anybody else been asked for this, happened on my last 2 trips.

Why is the work permit taking so long to get? Mine was done in about 4 working days.

Added info. Laos now don't give out first time non Imm B's. If you already have a non B and are going for another then you will be required to already have a valid work permit before they accept your non imm b documents. I just did that a few weeks ago and even though they checked the work permit, still decided to put a stamp next to the visa saying its advisable to have a work permit next time rolleyes.gif... maybe its a generic thing though.

We now send new employees over to KL or Penang for their first time visas.

I suspect that instead of a work permit they will aslo accept a WP3 form. This form you get when you apply for a work permit and signals that one will get a work permit once you have the right visa or extension of stay.

You can apply for a work permit on any kind of visa and even on a visa exempt entry. But they won't issue it till you have the right visa.

Thank you all for the replies :) Very helpful yet again! Will be doing a quick cambodia run for it.

And the WP is taking so long because I switched companies last minute!
