Thai-vietnamese Common Food

Featured Replies

I've been to Thailand 3 times and have noticed some common food of Vietnam and Thailand countries.I.e,nem chua(Vietnamese)kind of raw chopped pork marinated then covered up tight for couple of days before using. And many other salty dumplings that are eaten with fish sauce sold by street vendors.

I wonder if this common food comes from Vietnamese boat people fleeing their country and now settled in Thailand having blended Viet food into Thai culture or this has always been?(since south of Vn used to be part of Khmer territory).

Thanks.

been here 4 years and never seen either of those meals you describe, its not that amazing to think about though - I mean they even have Indian restaurants in the UK now I hear.
