Visa Exempt Stamp

Featured Replies

I'm coming to Thailand for 36 days holiday later this month and will presumably get a visa exempt stamp in my passport lasting only 30 days. My intension is the visit Loas (Vientiene) for a day during my stay. Therefore I presume I will receive another visa exempt stamp for a further 15 days. This would more than cover my 36 days holiday. What I am asking is.... can I do this or should I just get a tourist visa for Thiland before leaving the UK.

Make sure you have a ticket out of Thailand within 30 days or get a Visa.

They might refuse to board the plane without ticket out or a visa.

Which makes it simpler to just get a tourist visa from any Royal Thai consulate or embassy. You'll have 60 days and it won't matter if you leave (voiding the rest of the TV) and reenter via land for 15 days ... as long as you do so no sooner than 21 days into your stay. If you go to Laos before that, you should go ahead and get a re-entry permit which would keep the 60 day TV "alive"

Thank you both for your valued advice...... I'll do as you both suggest and be safe. I should have enough time to apply to the Royal Thai Consulate in Hull as it's low season now.

earlier this year i sent my pasport to hull for a 60 day visa on monday and got it back on the thursday

so time should not be a problem :jap:
