Air Asia Is A Joke !

I fly Air Asia frequently and find them to be much cheaper in most cases, even when booking last minute. You must have hit a time with heavy bookings. That is the only reason for their flights to be priced higher then Thai Air. If you book in advance online, then you will almost definitely find the prices are unmatchable by Thai Air, unless as I previoulsy stated they are really heavily booked or sold out on seats. Then you just have to check around for the best price. Check them again and book early if possible. You will find they are really probably the best deal for your money in most cases. :)

BTW:You can even use your debit card if it has a Visa or MC emblem on it to book online.

Air Asia will change prices quickly. You are best to do your comparisons on line open up a few tabs and check flights and cost. Book at that time. If you wait and expect the same prices the next day, you will be in for a big surprise. Obviously you where. To say the least, the price of education is expensive. Enjoy your next journey.

Agents are not always a rip off. I get my tickets Air Asia Hatyai - Bangkok tickets through an agent just because it is convenient. The prices are the same as online and they search through the options to find the cheapest deal. I can use any credit card or pay cash. They also arrange the pickup van to take me to the airport which I take for convenience too.

I have used travel agents to book online fares but they do charge a nominal fee-usually about 300b. Agents will take any cc or cash for payment. I have also used the 7/11 payment route but bear in mind that option is only available in this reigon. Another option may be to buy a pre-paid cc.. AA has improved significantly as far as flights arriving on time in the last year. Prior to 2010 they were almost always late. They still need to improve the web site and ability to handle customer phone calls internationally......

Budget airlines like AA do not pay any commission to travel agents. Thus the agent goes to the webpage, books, pays the same as you would pay there, and then sell you the ticket with a markup - he/she has to live off something too!

Regular airlines pay a commission out of the booked price, thus (usually) no further markup by the travel agent - and due to speciall arrangements (e.g. due to booking volume) the agent might even get better prices than you on the airline webpage.

In addition, budget airlines removed all non-essential services, change prices with demand and try to fill all seats as far in advance as possible. They mostly succeed, thus there are no last-minute deals and if you book later, you normally pay more.

Regular airlines try to give better service to business travellers and others who need flexibility. They normally charge the same no matter when you book, but keep a few seats purposely empty for unexpected changes and eventualities. Those might then be sold cheaply as last-minute offers.

You went to a travel agent to book an Air Asia flight?????? Well we know who's the joke!

Who is the joke? You??

Tell me then how I can book a flight with Air Asia online with no credit card?

hahah <deleted> you dont have any creditcard? you been living in a cave for the last 50 years :lol:hahaha

Maybe this poster understands a few things about credit cards.

"Most people start off with that intention but due to unforeseen circumstances, it eventually lead to delay of a month's payments and this is how the cycle begins. Unfortunately it is human nature that should we have excess money, there will be something we need. It has been proven scientifically that paying with a credit card generate less hesitation as compared to paying with cash. It is the same principle as to why casinos use chips rather than cash. The best thing to do is to use a Debit Card. Then you are actually spending only money and not your future happiness."

Don't you this Air Asia are in cohorts with the Banks.. use CC to sell your tickets and we will give you the money to buy/lease your aircraft...

Think please...

He he....my CC was cancelled because I used it to play online Poker...and lost a fortune :-D

Really...I am a lousy online poker player....actually strange because when I play LIVE I have huge profit! ;-)

SCB debit card with internet banking, you don't even have to pay credit card fee on top of everything else, it is free. only works with flights within or to/from Thailand, though, not for their other routes.

mAYBE YOU ARE NOT SO CLEVER !

But Air Asia sell cheap when you book in advance !

If they only have a few seats available the day it fly they raise the prices, or if it is very empty they lower the prices !

They do exactly as all other low cost airliners !

So you could just had booked one month in advance !

I had paid 1000 Baht and i had Paid 6000 Baht from Phuket to Udon Thani, all depending how full it is and how early i had booked !

You are right Mr. Clever Karsten Bo Andersen, but if being "clever" like you means that I have to work as a school teacher, well, then I prefer to be not so clever :-D

Working in the field, I can confirm, Thai is usually cheaper (or much cheaper) through LOS travel agents... but this is an exception in the business, as this costs them more than through their website... amazing Thailand! :D

Many reasons why individuals may not have a credit card and living in a cave is not one of them.

The OP is now aware he can pay at 7/11, he does not possess a CC.

You can use a debit card or kbank's web shopping card, you don't need a credit card specifically. You can get one of these easily in Thailand, ignorance isn't an excuse to put all the blame on a company for doing nothing wrong.

If you think the travel agent tried to cheat me, then why did she sell me a ticket from BKK to Copenhagen at 36,000 THB when it was officially priced on Thai Airways´ website at 47,000 THB?

Yes, we know who´s the joke :-D

Yeah, it is you! Do you actually think travel agents are a free service that are funded by the TAT? you obviously have no idea about traveling nor the whole purpose of "internet fares" they are cheaper to book online for a reason. :violin:

Go to one of their numerous Sales counters throughout the continent, or use the reference number on the booking to pay over the counter at any Siam Commercial Bank. Others like Nok Air have a facility to pay via text message.

Its seams to me you don't know much about booking flights TG are one of the most expensive airlines on full fare tickets but when they run their special offers they're one of the cheapest. Airlines like to offer incentives to book their planes up well ahead of time, then the price goes up as the dates near and on the last few days before the flight depending on whether its sold out or empty the price will either rise or fall for last minute bookings.

During special offers you can fly from Bangkok to London on BA for THB30k Return (with conditions) TG25K Return (with conditions). Full fare normal rate for BA is around THB40-45k & TG48-55K Qatar Airways with a stop in Doha Full fare is THB34K, this is normally the cheapest Full Fare ticket I find although Eva & Emirates can be competitive as well. I don't know about flights to Copenhagen TG & SAS are Star Allinence Partner Airlines and quite often co-share routes so I doubt there'd be much difference in their fares Qantas & BA are more or less identical on their shared OneWorld routes.

Carbon Offset Surcharge?? What fresh crap is this?? £9

No chance to opt out.

Convenience fee £24!!

Fuel Surcharge £48

This airline must be getting desperate.

You always have a chance to opt out.

Any customer can choose not to book if he doesn't like the terms.

Convenience fee can be avoided by paying with an SCB debit card. Worth opening an account if you are a regular traveller.

As Cardholder said you don't have to finalise the booking if you don't like the terms and price

Carbon Offset Charge? ..why ask us - call Air Asia!

^ so right, they can be good if you have plans well in advance

we fly Bangkok - Phnom Penh later this month, back a week later. Booked December 2010

580 baht per person return, plus the standard airport taxes which cannot be discounted.

twice

I booked with airasia

2 were good deals.

but I have to do the booking at least 2 months in advance .

same day flights or tomorrow flights

don't recommend to go with Airasia

I travel with them often, always got the price that I couldn't believed!!!! If you want to hear joke, try Tiger Airways, they are really a joke!

and waste more money. Don't be silly. If there is a Carbon Offset Charge, I expect to be given the chance to opt out.

I too have travelled many times with Air Asia, but this is fresh nonsense.

Of course I will travel with them if the fares are really cheap. But pulling crap like that just puts me off when the final fare is close to a full service airline.

It is frustrating to continually find 'add ons' - it is off-putting as a service charge added to a restaurant bill, or even VAT added at the end of an invoice. They actually look like extras.

An 'all in' price would be preferable and this is what the market will react to. As you say, with or without a carbon offset charge, you will book if the overall price is right.
