And we all know what assumptions cause !!

As my eldest two children weren't aware, it might be useful for TV forum members likewise.

If you've got an o2 mobile the web site allows you to send free messages with the receipant assuming its come direct from your mobile.

Some will say so what, however I always have my o2 mobile switched on in LOS but only for receiving text messages.Theres no additional charge for the sender or receiver.

When answering the text I just go to the o2 website and respond normally. If I was to respond directly on the o2 mobile its 49 pence because of the roaming charge.

I know its only 5 baht on Dtac for international sms but it all adds up ?

When you run out of free messages (100 a month) you can purchase more for 5 pence a text, still half the price of using Dtac.

Normally I log in once a day and answer all my sms' at one go.

Maybe Vodafone or Orange have a similar set up.

Some O2 mobile telephone tariffs allow you to send SMS from abroad for free. They quietly phased them out last year. Many people didn't even know about the feature, so at the end of their contracts moved to another tariff in order to obtain a discount.
