MIRANSHAH, PAKISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- U.S. drone strikes on Friday killed at least 6 suspected militants in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region, Ary news television reported.

A U.S. unmanned aircraft fired two missiles on vehicle traveling on Razmak road approximately 25 kilometers south of Miranshah, the main town in the tribal North Waziristan district near the Afghan border.

The missile strikes were the seventh carried out near Pakistan's tribal region since the May 2 special operation in Abbottabad in which al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed.

Pakistan's Afghan border, which the United States considers to be the most dangerous place on Earth, is known to be a stronghold of the Taliban's Haqqani Network, considered one of the top terrorist organizations and threats to U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

The twin strikes came as Pakistan's Army Chief Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani said that the U.S. helicopters used in the Abbottabad operation were not detected as they entered Pakistan airspace due to low altitude flight.

Kayani added that the U.S. used stealth technology that is not available to other countries. He also confirmed that the wife and children of bin Laden are in the custody of Pakistan and during questioning confirm the death of the al-Qaeda leader.
