Where is the disguise part?

Oh dear, you aren't happy are you. You have to believe that in a democtratic rule, the way to chnage things is to vote not to moan, with respect, to change things from within. You have the right to vote, I rightly do not and will continue to live here with every decision you guys make. All governments believe they are doing whats right for the people, you chose which one you believe in the most, although you are right to be cynical, and vote for them. Good Luck with all you wish for. Respectfully HenryCHunter

Yingluck is an accomplished business woman, very formidable and has the support of her family As a foreigner however, I wonder why Thailand is holding an election, Thaksin, undoubtedly, whatever he was alledged to have done, did more for the poor than anyone else in recent years apart of course from the ongoing work carried out by the Charity run by His Royal Higness The King of Thailand. Thaksin was elected and had a mandate with a real majority. Let us hope that Thaksin, who I have had the great pleasure to meet in the UK during his time invloved in English Football, Helps Yingluck in any way he can. Stability is important but the real benefit to the election is that the rightful person, according to the great people of Thailand wil form the next government, I do hope it is the party who wins the most seats. Good Luck Ms Shinawatra

It will be the party that can get the support of the majority of elected MPs that forms the next government. Being the party with the most MPs doesn't give them the right to govern the country.

'Multicolours' launch graft campaign on Yingluck

The so-called "multicolour" shirts Friday launched a signature campaign to initiate graft proceedings against Pheu Thai Party candidate Yingluck Shinawatra and her brother, Thaksin Shinawatra.

The campaign, spearheaded by Tul Sitthisomwong, will set up a table to solicit signatures at Thammasat University on June 18.

Tul said he wanted the Department of Special Investigation to probe Yingluck as a nominee in the asset concealment case involving ex-PM Thaksin and his family.

Pheu Thai to sue Tul for misleading public about Yingluck

BANGKOK, 4 June 2011 (NNT) – The Pheu Thai Party is planning to file charges against Alliance of Patriots Coordinator Tul Sitthisomwong for trying to damage Pheu Thai top candidate Yingluck Shinawatra’s popularity with a false accusation.

In response to Tul’s recent announcement that he would ask the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to seek indictment of Ms Yingluck for her involvement as a nominee in the Shin Corp share case, Pheu Thai Party Spokesperson Prompong Nopparit deemed the move as political mudslinging against his party.

He noted that although Tul had not been politically active for quite some time, his actions against Pheu Thai during the election campaign were intentional in terms of timing.

As claimed by Mr Prompong, it is obvious Tul is attempting to discredit Ms Yingluck after a number of surveys suggested that her popularity was in the lead.

He believed there was a mastermind behind this issue and thus called for him or her to stop such an unscrupulous tactic and turn to compete with policies and candidates’ capabilities instead.

At the same time, the Pheu Thai Spokesperson pointed out that Tul’s action was in violation of the electoral law as he had misled voters about Ms Yingluck and the Pheu Thai Party. Therefore, he said the legal team would submit a letter with the Election Commission (EC) within next week to propose for its consideration on the matter. If found guilty, the activist could face a prison term of ten years and a fine of between 20,000-200,000 THB and could also be banned for ten years from partaking in elections.

Did it occur to anyone of PTP that if M. Yingluck hadn't decided to ask PTP to run, and them granting her wish by putting her on the number one spot, no-one would have a closer look at Ms. Yingluck's standing. Having stepped in the political limelight these investigations and request for them will happen. Intentional as in terms of timing, correct, coinciding with MS. Yingluck's adventure in politics. Would hardly make sense before, now would it?
