I will be arriving to Bangkok on June 2.

But I forgot about getting a Visa.

I just have never needed a Visa before, and there is not enough time left for this process..

New Zealanders are allowed 30 days Visa free,

But I wanted to stay longer.

I read in here about Visa runs, and passport runs.

Is there any way of filling out Visa application for tourist

and having this processed in Bangkok.

No, unless you break the law and send you passport out of the country without you attach. You will have to go to Laos and apply for a tourist visa at the Thai Embassy

You can get a 1 week extension on top of the 30 days. You have more options than only Laos as you could also visit the Thai consulate / embassy in Cambodia or Malaysia for example.

I promised people I would be in Thailand through June and July,

so I am very embarrassed.

To get an extension to 30 days on a no Visa required stay, would I have to go to the immigration office at Chaengwattana Road or the old office in Sukhumvet, or better still at the airport.

Also lets say I dig myself in, and overstay my 30 days, by say ten or fourteen days,

is the penalty still 500 baht per day, which may be less expensive than other alternatives.

Or is this just risky, overstaying by say ten days .

I mean if the penalty is known I could face the extra costs, but I would rather not be

arrested or anything like that.

Not a very good idea!!! Follow the laws of the country you are visiting and go get a TV in Laos or elswhere.

As someone has already said, follow the law of the land.

Be aware that this forum is also free available to Immigration to read, and they do read it, so watch what you say or suggest!!

You can go to any Boarder and get 15 days, Visa Run Buses run every day from Bangkok all in a day and around 2,000 baht, you could also do it yourself taking the Thai Casino Bus about 300 baht + the 1,500 baht Visa for Cambodia..

Cheaper + risk free + peace of mind over paying Overstay Fine or being picked up by Immigration

Bit more expensive fly somewhere say Malaysia and turn a round and come back you get 30 days..

I am a New Zealander who simply made the mistake of assuming European or English no visa required welcome.

When I discovered my dilemma, that is that I did not have a Visa ,I needed more than 30 days

by now I had a girl who wants to be with me,

and I had no time, I rang the Thai Emabassy here in New Zealand.

The Thai Embassy in Wellington is far to important in itself to answer phone calls ever,

and they have a phone message saying they are permanently out to lunch,

and to ring back in office hours which are never..

Thai Embassy in New Zealand is inept.

To get back to my little life, I promised a Udon Thani girl I would see her.

I am thinking from the advise above that we could go across to Laos that is Vientiane

I could get a new non Visa entry.

Who knows but I will try it and let you know later.

Best option is to get yourself to the Thai Embassy as in right now, and ask them for priority processing. They may be able to do it the same day.

I wish people would stop posting this bullshit. I flew out of Christchurch 2 DAYS AGO with no visa and a return ticket 6 months in the future. It was NO PROBLEM.

Just like it was no problem last year.

The only reason an airline would refuse you entry, is because if you are denied entry they have to cover the cost of returning you to your last port. We NZrs don't need a visa for 30 days so will always be allowed entry!

Airlines may not allow you to board without a visa or ticket out of Thailand within 30 days.

You DO need a air ticket out of Thailand (if you have no visa) when departing NZ. They will NOT allow you to board without the onward or return ticket .

In this guys case, why doesnt he just buy a ticket Auckland/Bangkok./Vientiane when in Vientiane go see the Thai Embassy get a TV and come back into Thailand via land and head to Udon Thani.

So simple....
