Ohh, and avoid the taxi drivers like the pest, all of them, old and new cars, they are simply a crime syndacate on their own, nothing like the thai taxy, which might have his own problems with some real cheaters every now and then, in KL cheating is the norm.....

If only Penang could be the same....

  • 3 weeks later...

Just back from KL yesterday (Friday 9th), successful Non Imm O multi based on Thai wife, arrived at ampang park station just after 8am, walked the 10 minutes or so and joined the queue at around 08.20am submitted docs and back out at 0945am,, docs - wife's thai id + signed copy, house book original + signed copies, letter from her in thai kindly requesting they issue me a visa, marriage cert + copy signed by both, my Passport and copy, recent passport sized photo, K bank statement showing 100k+ and copy bank book, all copies signed, included a photo of both of us outside the house which was checked and returned along with the other originals.

I had downloaded the application form from their website prior to arriving but I found I had made an error on the downloaded application and discarded it for the one I received from security at the gate house, so cannot personally verify whether they will accept the downloaded applications but it looked like the same form with the only noticeable difference being the part on the lower righted the page which must be completed by an official this part was shaded on the downloaded application, whilst the one issued at the gate had no shaded area.

Collection next day- arrived just after 2pm about a dozen people already queuing, gate opened at 2.30pm, docs collected and clear at 2.40pm

Stayed at the Swiss Inn in Chinatown, only a 5 or 6 minute walk from Pasar Seni station, room was average but clean with free wifi, breakfast average, close to the markets and local food stalls
