Industrial zone suggested for Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- A meeting to discuss the creation of an industrial zone in Pattaya took place at City Hall on Thursday morning, chaired by Mayor Khun Itipon, and attended by more than 200 local government officials and interested business people. The mayor told the gathering he was concerned at the way all sorts of industrial-style businesses were scattered all over Pattaya in what appeared to be an ad hoc fashion.

good idea!

good idea...couldnt make Pattaya any more polluted than it already is....

Good idea, until they announce it's going to be next to your home!

There are already industrial estates a short drive from Pattaya (Rayong, Maptaput, Amata, Laem Chabang etc), in fact some of the people who work there live in Pattaya!

I think there might be an "image" problem to overcome if you plonk an industrial zone in an aspiring "world-class-family-oriented-resort".
