Fastest Route Bkk ~ Cmai

Featured Replies

Was wondering what was the Fastest route from Bangkok to Chiang Mai that mostly use by road trip, will want to bypass all major provinces head straight to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. Is this doable? And what will be the fastest and easiest road sign to look out for? Thank you all TV mates.

32 then 1 Ayutthaya, Nakhon Sawan, just before N/S take the By pass K P Phet, Chiang M take's about 8+ hour's with a stop.

If you get yourself a map you will see there's not that much choice, depending on what side of Bangkok you are, it's a big place.:)

The bus route is what I put in my first post except they go into N/S If you do this and not use the bypass it will put another 30 Min: + on your time if you tell us where your coming from there are several route's that bypass BKK but they will all end up at N/S That's the one's that are any good that is.By taking the 1 it bypass's all the major town's.

Thanks mate. I will basically ride from the South to the North splitting into 2 or 3 days. I just wanna know the fastest way to bypass every province, in order to reach Chiang Mai as soon as possible. So I think your route is quite suitable.

I will not want to stuck in BKK, the Jammmmmmmmm's horrible!

The quality of the 1 is very good except the N/S to K P Phet to Tak bit some 180 km they are doing it at the moment but there is a fair few rut's and general crappy bit's. After Tak this has now been sorted well 99% Ps load's of food place's but only one for farang food that I know of. And that's at K P Phet Just off the main Rd. If you want to know about that just ask.

At first I thought that the route, Nakhon Sawan - Phichit - Phitsanulok - Uttaradit - Lampang - Cm is the shortest way. From the map, my original planned route is on the right, and yours is on the left. Wondering which way the road conditions is better, and is my way cover more distance?

Ya can go that way but I think you'll find that it would take an hour or two longer. Slower traffic and more of it + some of the road's are only single lane. On the 1 you can do 120+kph. a little slower on the rough bit's. Also you will have to go through N/S that will put on 20/30Min: Phitsanalok town another 20/30 + Min: and the road from Den Chai to Lampang is very slow. if you want to get there the quickest. My way as stated 8 + hour's with two or three stop's. But if you want to get your finger out you could do it in 7 your way 9+ with no chance of doing it any faster. And maybe 1 stop. Now here's a thought go my way there, and the other on the way back and report in later. I would never go the second way but it would be nice to know. It take's me less than 3.5 hour's to K P Phet and even less from there to C/M, and that include's several pee stop's HAVE TWO WOMEN IN TOE and one good lunch break. Best of luck with what ever way you go. Have a good trip.

I will definitely choose to ride from the way you recommend bro. I don't see any point "wasting" another 2 hours.....

Pardon me for this noob question bro, what is N/S ?

Nakhon Sawan just save's on the old tapping. Like K P Phet. Kamphaeng Phet. Now I've buggered the old finger's again.
