Can someone tell me how long it takes Bangkok Bank in Pattaya to issue the financial statement letter required by immigration for retirement visa extension please.

Do they do it themselves or does it have to come from head office?

It's immediate and on demand at the branch on 2nd road (top of Soi 6). 100 Baht and takes about 5 minutes.
