I live in Cherng Talay and there is not a fully stocked hardware store anywhere near me that I can find. How about Phuket Town; is there a proper hardware store that carries the smaller sizes of taps, drills and an assortment of machine screws?

Wish l could look through the stuff with you. My heaven. :D

Heaven indeed..I could spend hours in a decent hardware store.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, that would be my recommendation for items such as taps, drills, and machine screws. Knowledgeable staff who deal with specialist tools all day long.

Bypass road. from Tesco Lotus direction airport, left side before Keehin, cant remember name at the moment,

For future reference; I went there today. They don't carry taps and I could not find any staff that spoke even a little English.

lack of English language staff I knew :)

I found Bangkok Hardware, and they do indeed have everything in the way of hardware. A very well organized proper hardware store. English speaking staff were very helpful. Spent a couple of hours just browsing. They had stuff I had never seen before and I have browsed a lot of hardware stores in my time. Highly recommended.

There is a big difference between a hardware store and a tool store. Bangkok hardware is a proper tool store. This is the place is always go when I'm looking for a specialist tool. Not cheap, but knowledgeable staff, and quality tools.

I created an mappoint so that it's easier to look at a map. http://map.panphuket...angkok-hardware

Good effort, but not quite correct. It's the big white building a couple of buildings to the left of your Green Marker

Thanks. Now it's corrected (copied the lat/lon earlier). I have wanted to visit the place, but not really knew where it was.
