Hi I am at looking at taking my friends for a meal in Jomtien and I was wondering how much it would roughly cost to hire a mini van from Pattaya to Jomtien,wait for us 3/4 hours and then takes us back to Pattaya

Around 1,000 Baht plus or minus a little if you can find one. Your better off getting a Baht bus, since they are everywhere and the price would be the same.

used to cost 1500 Baht excluding fuel but I think presently cost 2000 Baht for 24 hours

I use Limo Pattaya. Price will be reasonable. But check to see if their van can accommodate eight.
