Looks southern Germany to me..?

LaoPo

The roof suggests snow country in winter.

I was thinking Poland, dunno.

No real idea.

:o You're kidding me, aren't you ? The roof suggests snow country in winter ? :D Have you ever been in Europe in winter ?

The type of roof tiles have nothing to do with snow.

Vaduz, Liechtenstein innit??

Yes; 100% correct; it's a government building.

Although it's not my pic, I'm sure LeungKen doesn't mind if we continue... :o

Bino, be our guest and post another picture...

OK I've spent too long on this tonight, I got the continent right, so I'll pass on my other observations - perhaps they'll help another crazy punter.

If the sun is setting then the city appears to be facing west'ish over a large body of water, which I'm taking to be a lake.

The buildings closest to the waterfront are all of an earlier time (which I classify as colonial - they bear a resemblance to some Aussie architecture of the time which is why I went for somewhere in Canada - though could be American) trees along the waters edge seem to me to be deciduous and of a cooler climate variety.

Newer Architecture (the really tall stuff is pretty uninspiring but appears to have a sandstone look rather than a grey cement - though the colour of setting sun will be affecting the true colours.

I still favour Canada and I keep checking Toronto but I cannot get anything to match.

If nobody has got it by tomorrow I'll give it another go, in the meantime good luck ?

Hello LeungKen,

Sorry to be causing you great frustration! I know how it is! Old Croc usually does it to me!

Your colonial thinking is definitely on the right track, as is the cooler climate thinking, but it is not anywhere in Canada.

If you look closely, you will see a stars and stripes flying on one of the "colonial style" buildings!

I was just about to power down and go read a book - now you've got me thinking again.

Talk about frustrating - I'm also stuck with Old Crocs Skiing mountain that I think is also Canadian (don't ask me why) it's a good photo of yours and given time I will get it - But How Bl00dy long I cannot say............ :o

Boston maybe....hum

Sorry Ken, but Momo just got it. It is indeed Boston.

The picture is kinda deceiving.... you were spot on with your sunset and west facing theory, except that it is the Charles River, not a lake.

Congratulations Momo! Post a city!

Kinda small / difficult to see, but that neon tower is pretty definitive.

I'm pretty sure that it is Guangzhou, China.

Edit : D*mn that Croc! He beat me to it while I was typing / double checking my answer!

Guangzhou

Are you up to your old tricks again Crocs ?........... :bah:

Yes, because the picture was so small I went a different route this time. :D

I'm going to bed, anybody want to post a new pic?

:o:D :D

An Old Croc never loses his tricks. I know HOW you found it....and I was dumb enough not to think about it in the first place... :bah:

Momo8: please post bigger pics in the future ? :D
