Buddhism On The Ground In Thailand.

I was fortunate enough to learn of a Thai lady's mindset recently and how this has been fashioned by Buddhism.

She indicated to me that she believes she was a very bad person in a former life and must have hurt people in her past.

I asked why she felt this why and she indicated that she''s had to pay for her bad actions in.

It began with the death of her father through cancer when she was very young.

It wasn't just the pain of losing her father but the severe poverty her whole family suffered having lost their principal bread winner.

Then later in life her husband, whom she loved very much, left her soon after the birth of their son, for another woman.

She then suffered horrific injury in a rail accident losing one leg and severely damaging the other. This robbed her of her self esteem and rendered her mindset into that of an elderly woman, no longer feeling attractive to the opposite sex. She considers herself an ugly alien who needs to disappear from social life.

These were all signs, or indicators of her past transgressions.

She has since filled her life with a soft heart towards others. Even though poor shes extremely charitable to others and has deep empathy to those who suffer.

Even the fifty baht note which she saw someone drop was placed into a donation box. Having one leg she couldn't catch up to the owner but felt it wasn't right to keep the money.

She prays each night to Buddha for her family and good health.

She has experienced two events of lost entities trapped between lives.

One was at her apartment some time ago, when a young girl spoke to her in her dream telling her that she was trapped. Coincidentally her niece whilst staying with her revealed she also had the same entity visit her in a dream even though her aunt hadn't mentioned her experience.

With loving kindness she visited a temple to ask the Monk for advice and to request chanting so the person could move on.

She became very frightened when another trapped girl appeared in her dreams the other night. A young girl had been lured to the vicinity of this place and was murdered. Her body had been placed in a sack and taken away.

She is very frightened that the entity will come back. I told her not to worry but to tell the deceased girl that she will speak to the Monks.

To help her pass through to another life we intend to visit a temple for monastic advice.

My friend lives life with an open heart and much loving kindness.

She would share her last baht if she new it could help someone less advantaged than her.

She is also very sensitive on an emotional level and reads peoples body language rather than their words.

Perhaps an advanced being doing time in a lower state due to karmic fruit?

Good story about a nice person. To Overcome such difficulties and rise above them, not getting depressed and feeling all sorry for oneself...these are the benefits of knowing the truth about life....and how the law of karma rules almost everything.

My friend had another dream in which the dead woman came to her for help.

She learned that the young woman had been murdered and her body stuffed into a large bag. The deceased said she is not able to pass through into another life.

My friend wants to end this persons suffering but was also scared of these visions.

We traveled to a Monastery to get help from a Monk.

Ajahn Bang took all the details and will perform the appropriate ritual at my friends apartment on Monday.

The Monk said that the trapped entity comes to my friend because she projects loving kindness and is receptive.

Whilst we were there the Monk spoke to us about Dhamma and our fortune.

In the discussion we touched upon many things including the fact that my friend had lost her leg, I suffered from food intolerance/malabsorption for most of my life and the Monk was born with bad joints and pain.

I asked him why we found ourselves with such suffering.

He indicated my friend had ordered the death of another in a former life and that in my previous life I had been a woman who had terminated an unwanted pregnancy.

For these reasons we suffer in this life.

He declined to reveal his transgression in a former life.

On our return I was blown away by the coincidence which unfolded.

The TukTuk driver asked us where we had gone.

Upon disclosing that we had visited the Monastery to help a trapped female entity who had died in the vicinity, he revealed that a woman had been murdered in the building next door by a jealous Thai boyfirend and her body had been stuffed into a bag.

This was exactly how she had described the apparition to me.

She had not mentioned the bag to the driver but had talked to me about it after the second vision.

More importantly, whether it is real or not, my friend is projecting her loving kindness by helping someone who is suffering.
