Box /Storage For Dry Foodstuff

Featured Replies

If you live in Thailand, you know that any cookie, potato chip, etc. that stays for a moment exposed to the air sucks humidity in and loses crispyness as well as taste.

I heard there are some electric-powered boxes that keep such foodstuffs crispy.

What is the name of such device and optional question: do you know where it is sold in Pattaya?

Electric powered?

Why you not use some airtight containers a la Tupperware or plastic bags with an air seal?

That normally does the trick.

Even expensive powders can be kept crispy in these :whistling: ...

Even better ..if you shop at 7-11 you should have kept all them little free stickers they give you..

My misses collected loads of them stamps and now i am the proud owner of a nice doremon tupper ware set rolleyes.gif

Only way to keep the bugs out too.

keep them in the fridge, it has a drying effect. crackers, open chips and all that will stay fresh.

bread will dry out quickly though.

I suppose this is only helpful if you have a real, western size fridge with substantial space. the thai minibar style fridges that seem to dominate Powerbuy and shops of that ilk are useless after you put a few bottles of beer in them.

^ That's good advice. I keep my crisp bread, cereal and open packages of cookies and crackers in one of my fridges.

Some stuff has been there for months and are still as fresh as when the packages were opened.

Excellent for keeping out the bugs as well.
