Greetings - Have big bike coming to BKK in 3 weeks. It is "temp. import" situation. It will need to be insured and proof of this insurance will need to be presented to the customs b-4 they release bike. Question is: can anyone recommend a good company, type of coverage and "ball park" costs of insurance that best suits this situation. Bike is valued at 10k us and the most import aspect of coverage is liability. I am located in Chiang Mai and if this post needs to be moved to "insurance or "bike" forum please do so.

thanks for all replies

as Insurance requirements for temp imports are the same for cars and bikes, we can leave it here in Motoring

I would contact thaivisainsurance.com for online advice in english language.

I assume customs only require compulsory 3rd party which covers close to nothing and cost max 650 baht depending on engine cc. 650 baht is 3000cc, so less for a bike

In addition I would recomend a proper 3rd party with bail bond
