China Visa

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm planning a short trip to China in mid July - is there something like a 'Visa on Arrival'

or do I have to apply at the embassy in Bangkok? I'm European.

thanks,

p.

It depends on where you are going in China. If youre flying directly into China then a Visa is required and needs to be got from Chinese Consulate. If youre flying into HK first and then crossing into China I believe it is possible to get a Visa on arrival, but very unreliable.

Strongly suggest you get a Visa in Bangkok or wherever you are

There is also a China Embassy in Chiang Mai right next to the Mote :jap:

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the visa?

Can I pick it up on the same day or would I have to stay a night in BKK for that ...

thanks,

p.

In Bangkok, I know you can get it same day...expensive, but available. I did this several years ago. I went in early and came back later that afternoon to pick it up. The place was packed.
